The Story: "Little Red Riding Hood"

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a village near a forest. Everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood because she always wore a beautiful red cloak with a hood that her grandmother had made for her. One day, her mother asked her to take a basket of goodies to her grandmother, who was feeling ill. "Go straight to your grandmother's house," her mother warned her. "Don't dawdle along the way, and don't talk to strangers."

Little Red Riding Hood promised she would be careful, but as she walked through the woods, she met a charming wolf. Forgetting her mother's warning, she told the wolf where she was going. The clever wolf suggested she pick some flowers for her grandmother. While she was distracted, the wolf ran ahead to the grandmother's house, swallowed the grandmother whole, and put on her nightgown and cap.

When Little Red Riding Hood arrived, she noticed her "grandmother" looked very strange. "Oh, grandmother, what big ears you have!" she said. "The better to hear you with, my dear," the wolf replied. "And what big eyes you have!" "The better to see you with, my dear." "But grandmother, what big teeth you have!" "The better to eat you with!" the wolf roared, and he leaped out of bed and swallowed her up, too. Just then, a woodsman who was passing by heard the noise. He rushed inside, cut open the wolf, and out popped Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother, safe and sound.
